ORN Opioid Prevention Thought Leader Meeting: Strategies Used by the Prevention Workforce
January 21-23, 2020

Goal: Convene leaders in the prevention field to examine how the prevention workforce has mobilized to respond to the opioid epidemic and determine areas of workforce
development to support communities in their response to the opioid epidemic.
Objectives:
Examine the state of the prevention field’s response to the opioid epidemic
Explore prevention EBIs and the prevention workforce as it relates to the opioid epidemic
Identify ways the ORN can support communities from a prevention perspective to respond to the opioid epidemic through technical assistance
Define opportunities for collaboration among prevention, treatment, and recovery
Document the results of this meeting in a proceeding document outlining recommendations for the prevention workforce
Travel and Logistics Information:
The ORN Team (located at UMKC ATTC NCO Office) will be fully responsible for all incurred travel expenses.
The ORN supplemental project will pay hotel guest accommodations and air travel; you will incur no out of pocket expenses for either. You will receive a fair flat rate for ground transportation, baggage
fees, and parking fees; as well as the daily per diem rate for meals for each travel day. You will be reimbursed for these out of pocket expense two to three weeks post event.
Air travel will be booked through our University travel agent and hotel guest confirmation number will be sent to you via email once you have booked your flight with our agent.
